Love a good day off

Yesterday shadowfell and I had a girls day out. We drove around and investigated a game store, a yarn shop and a nearly abandoned outlet mall. All in all it was a good day, and I came home with some books, and a new wrap skirt/dress thing. <3 It feels like it's been forever since I had some time out like that, let alone with her, so it was a good day.

In the meantime, I've been writing with serindrana. Last night we figured out in the past two weeks we've written like 4300 words a day, every day. Which is like 123k in two weeks totally. That's a lot of words and I've been boggling at the word count since we hit 100k earlier in the week.

The game store that shadowfell and I hit yesterday was 31st Century Games and Hobby out in Olathe, which I had never heard of or seen before. Overall, it was a really cool store - bigger and better than some other game stores in the area. However, they were having some sort of game day or day at the store when we walked in. There seemed to be a momentary o.0 GIRLS! moment in the store but for the most part the general group ignored us. Still, I walked away with the new Dominion expansion - Cornucopia and knowledge of a well-stocked new store. *shrugs* I only wish that their little used comic section had had the trade book for Fables #2 - because I'm on the lookout.

And today was a nice lazy day at home complete with sleeping in and more writing.

Friday I got an email from our social worker! She's back from her maternity leave and is FINALLY submitting our info. I really don't know what her replacement was doing, but I told her I was glad she was back. Hopefully this really means we'll be at least getting our temp. license and working on full licensing before the end of summer.

Sounds like a fun day out. Glad you got to have it. And I now feel inspired to write a lot more.
