On our way

So, we had our walkthrough last night with our foster care worker, and while we have one or two things left to fix, she's going to go ahead and submit us for our temporary license. Then, it's just a matter of getting our new worker while she's on maternity leave (May-July) and then waiting for the health department to come do our official walkthough. She said that depending on the type of person we get from KDHE, they could be really thorough, or it could be a breeze. But, it could take a few months before they get to us (hence the temporary license). Pretty exciting all the same.

In gaming news, I'm helping a friend with her new site: http://gamehaiku.wordpress.com/
It's game reviews, done haiku style. I've only done a few, but plan to try and add more as I can. It's mostly just for fun. But, if your into that sort of thing, check it out. :)

I've just finished Mass Effect 2 for the first time, and found that it doesn't grab me the same way Dragon Age does. I mean, I liked it, I liked the characters, and I definitely got carried away with it. But, after finishing it, I didn't have the same feeling of -- I need to play this again right now -- like I did with both Dragon Age games. I will probably play it again, but not yet. I downloaded the first game for my PC, and I'm going to give it another try. Last time I played it on the Xbox, and didn't really get into it. I'm hoping playing it on the PC will make me feel a little differently.

I don't know how you guys deal with all these endless delays and waiting! Still a temporary license sounds like real progress. I'm excited for you! I hope you'll get someone who will get you through it quicker rather than slower.

The trick has been to just do what we normally do, and try not to think about it. Games and books and movies, and whatever else takes our mind off of it helps. Also looking around our house and knowing we still have things we can improve in the meantime means we're busy with those things while we wait.
