Wish List

Step One
- Make a post (public, friends locked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two
- Surf around your friendslist (or friends friends, or just random journals, or holiday_wishes/wish_list) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.
You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

My biggest wish right now is to get some sort of sponsorship or investment for GamingAngels.com. If we could get enough money to run it properly and quit our jobs to focus on it full-time, I'd be ecstatic.
- A subset of this wish would just to be able to sell some advertising space. We've got several different kinds of options available, and they're all pretty cheap and we're open to different kinds of advertisers (we do more than just gaming) That means I'm willing to advertise for people's Etsy stores, web comics, blogs, ect.
- Another need for the site would be to get a journalism/english/web/game major in need of internship credit to work for the site. We are registered as a business, which means we can give legitimate internship credit for people that need it and are willing to put in the time.

Alternatively, my other want (almost a need) is for a new job where I can be somewhat flexible about where I work (home/office). I don't need to work from home full-time, but with my Fibromyalgia it's often much, much better for me when I do work from home. (I'm currently a Business/Process Analyst with lots of reporting experience.) I say it's almost a need because I'm only confident that I'll have a job through the new year. We're undergoing a lot of changes and under new directorship, I may not have a job after March/April (don't know the time frame for sure yet).

I really really want to have a stable Foster Care worker for a few months, just until we can get through the application/licensing process. We've been through 4 workers (not our fault, or theirs - it's all funding related) in the past year which has made getting stuff completed really difficult.

Wants: I always want Yarn (alpaca preferably) and Books (now happy with eBooks too), and more time to write or game (or both when I have to write a review).

Anything from my Amazon List. I've had that list for years, and I probably go in at least once a week and look at it and make changes. It's kind of comforting when I can update it either by just taking things off the list because I just don't think I want them anymore, or because I've acquired the item somehow.

Fic for things I couldn't put on my Yuletide wishlist for one reason or another: Leverage, Inception, Dragon Age, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, the Velma & Scooby Doo tshirt (We've Got Some Work to Do Now), Eureka, Warehouse 13, The Walking Dead, Psych. Or alternatively, I'd love some fic for the things ON my Yuletide list.

Fic for my fake band: Tinamou. Or graphics. Or a fanmix. You know anything would be cool.

A lightbox and photographs of my jewelry and knit pieces so that I can I get an Etsy store going.

Some sort of head bust thing that I can put hats on, test jewelry and stuff on. Also, a plus-size dress form.

Sewing lessons. I got that nice old sewing machine fixed, but I'm scared to use it because I don't want to break it. So, I'd really like to get some lessons so I have a better idea of what I'm doing. I took lessons WAY back in high school. I even made a dress for myself at the time. But, I don't remember much. Basically I can sew a line (not necessarily a straight one).

Lastly, I don't think anyone can help me with this, but I'd really love for Google Docs to work at work again. not being able to get to it during the day just kills me, because when I need access to something, I can't get at it. I don't think it's blocked - or if it is, it's a different sort of block than say the games websites. I don't get an error, it just won't load. :(

catvalente made a want/need post yesterday. If you're looking for a place to start for things you might be able to help people with for the holidays that isn't monetary, that's a good place to start.
