Thanks to the magic fortune telling machine in the Twilight Zone.

I've been watching the second season of the United Status of Tara, which I love, with one exception. It's set in my city. But instead of getting a location expert to tell them - uh no, there's no magical place to go ice skating in the spring, the WW 1 museum has a name, and no one is going to address downtown KC as anything other than 'downtown'. This was my biggest complaint with the first season, too. Maybe they do have a location expert, but that person obviously hasn't lived here in a while.

Typically when the KC area is addressed on TV it's in the flyover sense, with generic overhead city pictures, and you never see on the street scenes. Or if you do, they're not done in a way that leads to a specific city identification, it's all very general. Tara isn't doing that. They're making an effort to address the city, the suburbs, the highways, ect. But they're doing it wrong. I'd almost prefer they just make up their own little small town nearby so I could suspend my disbelief a bit more.

Also worth noting in the most recent episode, they used my last name. So, they're in my city taking my name. Creepy.

I love, love, love United States of Tara. It's my new favorite show.

I'm sorry they're butchering the facts of your city...

It's a great show, I do love it. I just wish they had a location expert (or a better one).

I'd heard of the show but had no idea it was set here. Interesting.
