Pushups & Dance Babbling

So, I'm working my way back through the Hundred Pushups challenge again. But this time with real pushups instead of the bent knee 'girly' version. Normally, full pushups really hurt my head, especially like now when I'm having sinus issues. But, I'm trying to power through and I'm hoping that my head will get used to it enough and eventually I won't have the same pressure issues.

Since each set of pushups calls for a rest between reps, I'm going to add in situp/crunches in the same reps. I'm taking both Monday night dance classes now, and working my way towards a third class (the Level III class) on Wednesdays (starting in November) so I want to try and get in some extra work when I'm at home, aside from practicing combos or choreography. Hopefully this will all help out.

I'm also hoping that I'm not taking on too much - especially since I'm planning to take a run at NaNoWriMo again this year, and looking at signing up for yuletide after.

I had fun working on the Boxing Combo I just finished too - it was short, but it took me about a week to figure out, and I'd like to get better at that. I probably can't work on it consistently until December, but I'd at least like to keep ideas churning around and stretch how I think about dancing.

Last week, I had a really out-of-character negative week during both Level I & Level II classes. I'm not sure what spurred the thoughts, or why I couldn't shake them, but thankfully I was feeling much better this week. I think working on the combo helped that a bit.

Have you tried standing push-ups, or push-ups on an elevated surface? This might help with any head pain.

I find I have a lot of pain doing sit-ups. Mostly in my neck. I even do then right, but I get pain there....not sure, but I think it might have to do with the girls trying to choke me as I sit-up or something.

Standing pushups are fine, but I don't think they give me nearly the same workout. Girly pushups (with my knees down) don't give me the same amount of pressure, which makes me think if I just work through it, as the pushups get easier, the pressure will go away.
