Random links and stuff.

Since WotLK is coming out in November, I think it's a good time to point people over to the Whistleblower Zero videos if you haven't seen them already. It's a good reminder at least why not to preorder your expansion from GameStop or EB Games if you can help it. Find all the videos on YouTube here: http://www.youtube.com/user/WhistleBlowerZero?ob=1, or see the second one below. I'm posting the second one because when I watched them all yesterday, the first video wouldn't load for me.

Today was a very very long day at a boring conference where I learned a bunch of stuff I didn't need to know anything about. So that was...fun. I did end up sitting by my director for a bit who confirmed some of the vaguely good news my old manager passed on to me last week. It's good, I just don't know how long their going to string me along before any decisions get made. *shrug*

Ah, the Repo! Genetic Opera soundtrack comes out on the website for download at the end of the month. You can already sample some of the tracks here now. Even if this movie is horrible, I think it'll be worth at least one viewing. Does that make sense?

Did Week 3, Day 1 of my push-ups yesterday. I had to step down to the first difficulty level for this week. I'm positive I could've pushed myself to stay on the second level, but I think I made the right decision. I'll still be able to build up, and maybe for week 5, I can step back up to the second level. Week 1, even on the first difficulty level was pretty hard. I was definitely more sore yesterday evening than I have been during the other two weeks. Anyhow, 69.

Also, if you listen to a lot of internet radio, and haven't yet check out http://www.musicovery.com already, do it now! Very interesting. I still like AccuRadio and Last.fm. But if I need something new and different, that's where I'm going. (thanks gymnopedie

Tomorrow, Matt and I are taking our moms to see La Boheme at the Lyric Opera. So tonight, I plan to try and watch the Baz Luhrmann version they've been showing on Ovation. Should be interesting.

Just a little bit of extra info for those who don't already know it - Whistleblower Zero is (badly) copying the style of Yahtzee's Zero Punctuation game reviews, found at

Still, interesting stuff. I suspect EB games operates in a similar fashion.

WBZero actually spends a good couple of minutes at the start of one of the videos to describe the look of his videos and style because he's a big ZP fan. ;)

If I remember correctly, EB Games is part of Game Stop, just under a different name. I was thoroughly disappointed to learn that. :(

Yup, EB is now owned by GameStop, despite the fact the stores are still EBs.

... >.> ... <.< ... Not going to speak for any branch of GameStop except the one local to me ... I reserved and picked up my CE of Burning Crusade just fine; without being hassled about other things ... I fully expect I will experience the same ease this time around.

It's not just that. It's their whole business philosophy, and that it's not worth continuing to give them money.
