Home again, Home again.

We're home from Dragon*Con. I don't have much more to say than kakita_shisumo hasn't already said. Matt's got a bunch of photos of costumes and stuff over at his flickr (a few good doctors are in there). I had a lot of fun, but I definitely wish there'd been a bit more organization, and you know, wireless internet. There's only so much internetting I can do on the iPhone. I didn't get any liveblogging done of the MMO panels because of the internet issues. As a matter of fact, there wasn't a paid internet option for the hotel the MMO panels were in. Very odd.

I do have a good story about Dragon*Con though. LKH (Laurell K. Hamilton) was one of the "Guests of Honor" this year. She got a plaque and everything. Anyhow, every day of the Con that I was there, I came within arms reach of her. The first day, I wasn't positive it was her until I saw her Guilty Pleasures Staff tshirt. The second day, was actually late in the evening while Matt was off with my camera at the after-dark costume thing. She and entourage were dressed in gothy/corseted/buckled type gear chatting up goth girls and standing around like a bunch of weirdos. Again, it took me a minute to recognize her. She's much skinnier and older looking in RL than I'd expected. The dark kohl circles around her eyes, and bleached out hair doesn't help her image much either. I cursed Matthew lots during that 10 minutes they were standing around because he had my camera and my cell phone was dead. Sunday, I saw her and entourage again as I was rushing through the hotels to make a gaming session. I had my camera, but they were gone by the time I got to it. Sadness.

Today was a nice lazy day, got to sleep in after taking the rental car back this morning. Also had a follow-up appointment with dr. asshole that I'd seen a few weeks ago. All my bloodwork is normal, so I feel pretty good about not making anymore appointments with him, and looking somewhere else. Unfortnately, he's the only Endo in that office, so the search begins again from the beginning.

Also, started the 100 push-ups program today. I'd done my initial test before we left, so I knew where to start today. Day one - second columnn - 29 push-ups. Have to do the knee versions because full push-ups make too much pressure build up in my head and I get dizzy. Stupid sinuses.

You know, I'm going to try that push up program! Thanks for posting that!

what's the push-up thing about (the link takes me to a search-like site)? sounds interesting ...

sucks about the dr. search. i just had to transfer over to Kaiser (which i actually haven't been to since they chemical burned me then blamed it on my mom when i was 4), and i'm not looking forward to starting over with new doctors. it's so hard to find one that isn't a complete douche jockey. or, at least, in my experience.

oh, and are you doing the writing challenge thing again this Nov? i was thinking of trying it again, but i don't know yet.

Fixed the link to the hundred pushups site. It's an interesting program. When I'm finished, I'm curious to see if it works on other things - like sit-ups/crunches.

Yes, I think Matt and I both plan to do NaNo again this year. If you need someone to bounce ideas off of, let me know! I'd be happy to help. :)
