Warhammer Goodness.

Okay, so Warhammer Online isn't out yet, but yesterday, for a dollar I found open beta keys at Target. It comes with a $5 off coupon for the game when it releases as well as some nifty in-game items that are good for when the game goes live - not cheap beta toys. Anyway. The Open Beta doesn't start until September 7th, but today you can set up the download (holy 10GB game Batman) so that you're set and ready on the 7th. So this afternoon, I tried to do that. Only it's through fileplanet who sucks big time and I've spent almost and hour and a half trying to get the download manager to register the warhammer beta pre-download thing. *sigh* What a pain in the ass. For no other game would I go through all these troubles.

On a completely different note. I have to do another round of Glucose Tolerance Testing, which is the stick me every half hour for four hous to draw blood thing I did like a year and a half ago. I'm doing it Thursday, so I can get it out of the way before my birthday party over the weekend, and before Dragon*Con. I'll be grumpy Thursday, but better prepared for vacation. :)

woot! I played it for about 20 mins at gencon on Saturday. I wasn't that happy with it, reminded me too much of Lord of the Rings online. I guess I'm just used to the fast paced combat of WoW.

Arg. Lucky you. See some friends and I actually spent several years playing the tabletop Warhammer Fantasy. Not the miniatures game, but actual roleplaying. I love that game, and I really want to see what they can do in an MMO.

At least it IS downloading, I mean, I can't complain. I'm surprised everything hasn't exploded into fiery death yet

*nods* I finally got it to start the download, after many unsuccessful attempts to connect to the preorder server.

I'm curious about that game myself. I might have to go get one of those keys.

Ugh; they don't need to draw you every half hour for that, you know. The standard is a fasting glucose, then drink the (horrid) drink, then thirty minutes (some places don't even do the post-drink 30 minutes, they skip right to one hour post-drink) after the drink, then to an hour post-drink (another thirty minutes, unfortunately), then on hour intervals after that. Every thirty minutes is highly excessive and rather invasive. The docs just need to see how you handle the glucose load, and if it goes up or down or stays the same. You can do that every hour versus every thirty minutes. Grrrrrrrr....that makes me angry; sorry; not your fault. *hugs* (For what it's worth, I do mine for this pregnancy next month. Ew.)

You know it wouldn't be so bad if they could just hook me up to an IV or something to take my blood. It's the constant poking in arms that do not give blood easily that's the problem.

Yeah, that really sucks. :( *hugs*
