In the jungle of links I'm looking at this morning I found this:
Seal Press has an open anthology call for women writers exploring therelationship between women and horses, to be published in Spring '09.They're looking for strong, real-life stories 2K-4K in length about anextraordinary experience or deep connection with a horse. No otherdetails or internet site link offered; contact Cornelia Durrant atWomenAndHorses@horizoncable.com

I mean, sure I know plenty of girls/women that like horses...but I'm not sure they like them in the way that anthology is looking for.

you know, oddly enough, i know there are horsewomen out there that would describe the relationship they have with their horse like that (and they aren't regularly doing Pony Shows, if you know what i mean). there are some dedicated people out there. for better or worse. :)

but wouldn't it be hilarious if it really IS for stories that are so wrong on 10 different levels? i'd die if that's what they're really looking for.

Assuming their asking for perfectly innocent stories, they're going to have a serious problem if they try to sell this book online. A search for "women and horses" could have very disasterous results...

And the pony play episode of Bones was only on last week here. :O

And yet, my mind wanders to the shapeshifting unicorn pr0n that I've previously encountered. The internets is a bad, bad influence on my fragile little mind.

I'm left to wonder what they're -actually- looking for. Because a request like that can so go either way.
