Random thought samplings.

I've been writing by hand far too much at work.  My hand is incredibly sore.  I wish I actually had a different type of work to do at the moment, so I could switch off.  Wait, I take that back, I wish I had a different type of work that didn't involve handwriting, that I could work on.  Because I do have other work.  It just all requires lots of handwritten work, and my hand/wrist is screaming at me now.  Thank goodness the day is almost through.

For those of you out there that like Laurell K. Hamilton, I strongly suggest reading Kim Harrison.  She's got two books out: Dead Witch Walking and The Good, the Bad and the Undead.  I bought DWW on a whim over the summer and read it on the plane to and from the Seattle/Vegas trip.  I really enjoyed it.  Last weekend, actually Sunday night when we were at Barnes and Noble due to the power outage, I noticed her second book was out, so I snagged it.  I've put off finishing the Witches of Eileanan series' last book to read this one.  The main character of both books is Rachel, a witch, and a "Runner" (think Private Investigator/ Magical Assistance).  There's much less of the sex/violence combo that Laurell is so fond of, and I think that's why I find these stories so attractive.  They're sassy and intellegent and they don't feel the need to interrupt everything with sex.  Definitely worth the read.

I'm looking forward to my weekend.  I tried to get some writing done last night while Matt played some WoW, but his laptop's "?/" key doesn't work, and it threw me off, because the beginning of the conversations require some questions.  I know, it didn't take much to dissuade me, but I'll be better when I can sit at my own computer.

Also, we're planning on getting our engagement announcements pictures taken this weekend.  Or we're going to try to at least.  I realize it's Valentine's Day weekend, and some couples get packages done for that reason.  Hopefully it won't be too busy.  There's not a lot of things more uncomfortable than waiting around in a portrait studio lobby when you hate getting your pictures taken.

Broken keys are a pain in the ass. My "<," at home doesn't work... makes HTML a LOT of fun. :P
